Hayleigh Brennan appointed Senior Women's Coach

The East Malvern Tooronga Cricket Club is thrilled to announce that Hayleigh Brennan has been appointed Senior Women’s Coach for Season 2023/24.

Hayleigh currently plays for Melbourne’s First XI in Premier Cricket and has represented the Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers in WBBL, Victoria, Australia A and in 2017 played for the Governor General’s XI against England Women.

Hayleigh is a qualified coach who works in the BBL academies programs and comes to the Titans through our relationship with Big Dogg Cricket.

“I can’t wait to be involved and work with the EMTCC talent this season,” Hayleigh says.

“This sound like a brilliant club to be a part of and I am very grateful for the opportunity to come on board in 2023/24! I look forward to meeting everyone and getting started with the group. See you all soon!”

Women’s First IX captain Georgie Dennis says “I couldn’t be any more excited to have Hayleigh on board as our women’s coach this season. She seems like a perfect fit for our club and this is a great step forward for women’s and girls’ cricket at EMTCC. Bring on season 2023/34!”

EMTCC President Neal Woolrich says “we’re beyond excited to have a coach of Hayleigh’s calibre on board for the season ahead. We’re really impressed with Hayleigh’s attitude and approach to cricket and know she’ll be a great mentor to our players, especially girls making their way into senior cricket.”

This season the club will be working with Hayleigh to integrate Under 17 girls into women’s training to strengthen the pathway from junior to senior cricket.

The committee would also like to thank Rachel Fidock, who is stepping down as women’s coordinator this season for many years of tireless service across the women’s program.

Georgie Dennis has been appointed women’s coordinator and will work with Hayleigh and the committee to build the women’s program for this season and develop a long-term strategic vision for girl’s and women’s cricket at EMTCC.

Women’s training will start on Monday 4 September from 7pm at the Junction Oval indoor centre.

We look forward to seeing returning players and of course new players are welcome.
